EPM Holanda is the Dutch branch of the famous Escola Portátil de Música (EPM) from Rio de Janeiro. Since 2012, we have been offering lessons in Brazilian music styles such as choro, samba, forró and more in Rotterdam.

Our mission:

• Making the rich Brazilian music culture accessible to everyone in the Netherlands
• Using music as a connecting force: learning together, playing together, enjoying together
• Passing on traditional instruments and styles to new generations through lessons and concerts

Founder Marijn van der Linden studied improvisation guitar at the conservatory and specialised in Brazilian music. He took lessons and masterclasses in Brazil, including at EPM. With the permission of the founders of EPM in Rio, he started the school in the Netherlands. EPM Holanda has since grown into a warm community of musicians, students and enthusiasts. The choro school has a fantastic team of specialised teachers for many different instruments.
